OURO Interactive was founded in 2022. We are Meta's first in-house, first-party game studio dedicated to creating flagship games for Horizon Worlds, Meta's social user-generated content (UGC) platform in the metaverse.
We focus on building high-quality, innovative multi-platform (VR, mobile, browser) experiences that push the boundaries of Horizon's creation tools and platform capabilities.
The name "Ouro" is inspired by "Ouroboros," the ancient symbol of a serpent eating its own tail, representing eternal renewal and cycles. "Ouro" also means "gold" in Portuguese, reflecting the studio's aim to set the gold standard for Horizon Worlds experiences.
OURO Interactive is a small but ambitious team that believes in having fun at work and letting that shine through in our games. We're obsessed with making multiplayer games because some of our best experiences in life have been gaming with friends in games like Everquest, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, DOTA and more.
